Eye floaters are simply debris located inside the vitreous humor that is cast into the retina. This debris has the appearance of "spider webs" or "dragons" and is very rarely dangerous. The main problem about eye floaters is that they are very annoying.
Eye floaters are commonly experienced by older individuals, although they can be experienced by pretty much anyone. Many teenagers and young adults report seeing eye floaters. Although these floaters are often completely harmless, they are annoying and incurable for the most part.
Eye Floaters Surgery
There are currently two main types of surgery. The first one is known as FoV and involves the complete removal of the vitreous humor. The second surgery is done with the use of a laser and is not as invasive as the eye floaters surgery.
There is currently a lot of ongoing research about eye floaters including two main procedures. I discuss them in their proper page to the left.
